Sometimes you are trying to install a version of a software platform using Fantastico on your website but you get a message saying :‘You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain’!! There is no script in your root directory but you are still getting this message from Fantastico. This is because the previously installed script on that directory is not properly uninstalled.
To resolve this problem go through the following steps:
1. Login to your cPanel and click on the File Manager. Alternatively you can use an FTP client software.
2. Go to /.fantasticodata directory in your home directory.
3. Open installed_in_root.php file in a text editor. It looks something like this:
$installed_in_root["YOURWEBSITE1.com"] = 1;$installed_in_root["YOURWEBSITE2.com"] = 1;
Delete the part about the website you were trying to install the script on e.g. $installed_in_root["YOURWEBSITE2.com"] = 1 . DO NOT delete installed_in_root.php. If you do that Fantastico cannot keep track of other scripts on your other domains.
4. Go back to Fantastico and install the script. There should not be a problem anymore.
