This message might confuse the user about what he/she should do to resolve the issue. The first step toward solving this issue is knowing why you are getting this prompt. This is actually a part of User Account Control (UAC) system of Windows Vista and Window 7 to protect users against malware and other unwanted actions by software. The principle it is to execute commands with low privileges in accessing system resources.
To fix this problem, when you encounter the “The requested operation requires elevation” prompt go to start>accessories and right click on the “Command Prompt” shortcut. Choose “Run as administrator” in the opened menu. The newly opened CMD will have administrator privileges.
If you want to disable this UAC feature you can do that through Start>Control panel>User accounts and family safety.
This is not recommended though, because it will make your computer vulnerable against malicious software.
